        My name is Scott Douglas Shields, but I go by Doug.

         I have worked in both Chiropractic and Spa settings, both of which I find very rewarding in that they have their own special and specific dynamics.

         I am currently the owner and therapist with Tranquil Balances In Massage since June of 2008.

         The Chiropractic setting has more of a medical / health specific parameter, whereas the Spa setting is most generally one of relaxation only.

         The ownership of my own massage studio has presented with all the above, (aka; medical referrals from Family / General Practitioners to Chiropractors to Physical Therapists and even a few fellow massage therapists).

          ....... And yet ownership of my own studio has allowed for me to work with those who just wish to "kick back and relax" for awhile also. 

          I specialize in:  Basic Swedish Massage,  Integrated Deep Tissue / Sports Massage,  Myo-Skeletal Alignment (Level I),  Shiatsu (Floor Style), Reiki Level 1 & 2, and Certified with ROCKTAPE©, TCM Cupping (both ROCKTAPE© &TCM Cupping were seen in active use during the 2016 Olympics).
